Synopsis
The U.S. Embassy to Libya invites alumni of U.S. government sponsored and facilitated exchange programs to apply for the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2026). Proposals must include teams of at least two alumni who meet all program eligibility requirements. The most competitive proposals will advance key priorities identified below. Exchange alumni interested in participating in AEIF 2026 should submit a proposal with an accompanying Budget to LibyaUSAAlumni@state.gov. The deadline to apply is Saturday, May 9th, 2026, (23:59 Libyan local time).
The U.S. Embassy to Libya invites proposals that advance economic growth, stability, and stronger U.S.–Libya partnerships through initiatives that foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and workforce development. Projects that promote commercial diplomacy such as building business networks and expertise, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and encouraging trade and investment are highly encouraged.
Proposals should also aim to empower Libyan youth and professionals with practical knowledge in leadership, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and English language proficiency to enhance employability and global competitiveness. Activities that strengthen civil society and encourage collaboration between U.S. and Libyan stakeholders will contribute to safer, more prosperous bilateral relations.
All 2026 AEIF projects must celebrate and promote America’s 250th birthday. Additionally, projects should focus on the following themes:
