Synopsis
The U.S. Embassy in Libreville announces an open competition for the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). AEIF supports projects designed and led by alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange programs that strengthen ties between the United States and Gabon and advance shared priorities. Through this program, the U.S. Embassy seeks innovative proposals that leverage the expertise, leadership, and professional networks of exchange alumni to address local challenges and promote collaboration between the United States and Gabon. Competitive proposals will demonstrate clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and strong alumni leadership. Projects should advance U.S. foreign policy priorities, promote people-to-people engagement, and highlight American excellence in areas such as entrepreneurship, technology and innovation, education, civic engagement, and environmental stewardship. Proposals must be submitted by teams that include at least two alumni of U.S. government exchange programs, such as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), the Fulbright Program, the Humphrey Fellowship, the Mandela Washington Fellowship, or the Open English Language Program (OEP). Project ideas that highlight Freedom250, the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary of independence and the enduring principles of freedom, democratic governance, and civic participation, are encouraged. Projects funded under this opportunity will have a period of performance of up to twelve months. **PLEASE NOTE THE GRANT CLOSING DATE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO MAY 16, 2026** |
